Maestra Liz

Maestra Liz is the owner and founder of Nuestra Escuelita Spanish Academy.  She is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience.

 

Maestra Liz has dedicated her career to teaching second language learners in both Spanish and English through bilingual and ESOL classes among several public and private schools located in California and Washington, DC.

She has served as a teacher, dual immersion program coordinator, data coach, and helped establish a successful Spanish dual immersion program at an elementary school in Washington, DC.

She prides herself on building fun, supportive and learning-focused classroom communities by establishing strong relationships with students and parents.  

 

Maestra Liz is an enthusiastic teacher and enjoys creating exciting, engaging, and language-driven lesson plans that instill a love for learning and language.

She holds a Master's Degree in Education from Claremont Graduate University and is a California credentialed teacher.

She currently lives in Southern California, with her husband and two children.  In her free time she likes to run, experiment with new recipes in the kitchen, and travel.

Maestra Susana

Maestra Susana is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher.  She has worked with students in the classroom for over 18 years.

She has always had a passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential.  She enjoys creating engaging lesson plans that consider different learning styles.  She has taught various age groups, including adult ESL classes.  She has worked in among multiple public and private schools in California.


Maestra Susana currently teaches K-8th grade Spanish, and coordinates the GATE and RTI programs at a private school.


She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from California State University, Long Beach. She holds a California Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.


She currently lives in Southern California with her family.  In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping and cooking.

Maestra Maria

Maestra Maria is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher and administrator.  She has worked with students in and out of the classroom for over 15 years.  

 

She has a strong passion for teaching and reaching to all her students' educational and potential needs.   Maestra Maria has been highly praised for seeing the unique qualities in each student who has come to her and nurtured the most challenging students in their personal, social, and academic growth. 

 

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a Minor in Spanish from California State University, Fullerton.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Claremont Graduate University, and has a California Administrator Credential.

 

She currently lives in Southern California with her husband and their two sons.  Previously, she lived in Staten Island, New York for four years where she started her family.  In her free time she trains for half marathons, and takes joy in exploring our world through courage, curiosity, and kindness with her boys.

Maestra Andrea

Maestra Andrea is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher.  She has worked with students for over 10 years in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. 

 

Maestra Andrea has experience both inside the classroom and outside doing adventure programs, and has previously tutored middle school students in various subjects in the Santa Barbara area.  In Los Angeles, she has taught English to high school newcomers and, today, she is currently teaching in a dual immersion program at the elementary level.

 

She likes to form strong relationships with students in order to get to know them beyond the classroom.  She believes that building strong relationships with students helps them perform better.  She does this by creating fun activities that are centered around the lives of her students.

 

Maestra Andrea received her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Chicana/o Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She also has a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University.  She holds a Multiple Subject teaching credential as well as a BCLAD (Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development) credential.

 

Maestra Andrea currently lives in Los Angeles where she enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle by going to the gym to lift weights, and hiking.  She also likes to go in search of the best delicious food in town.

Maestra Carolina

Maestra Carolina is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher. She has worked with students for over 12 years in Los Angeles.

Maestra Carolina has experience both in and outside of the classroom working in before and after school enrichment programs. She's always had a passion for working with students. She previously worked as a youth education specialist helping foster and probation students reach their academic goals. Maestra Carolina has been recognized for demonstrating initiative and exhibiting genuine care for all her students.

She received her Associates of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Los Angeles City College. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Natural Science from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Maestra Carolina holds a Masters of Arts in Education and Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential from Claremont Graduate University as well as a BCLAD (Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development) credential.

Maestra Carolina currently lives in Los Angeles.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, arts and crafts with Cricut machine, watching movies, and exercising.

Maestro Gerardo

Maestro Gerardo is a native Spanish speaker and credentialed teacher. He has worked as a Spanish teacher for over 7 years.

He likes to form strong relationships with students and families in order to get to know them better and make lessons more meaningful, engaging, and fun. He also likes to spend time learning new classroom strategies and methodologies to keep improving as a teacher and as a person.

He has experience working as a Spanish interventionist in grades K-5th, teaching small groups of students to improve their reading, writing and conversational skills in Spanish, and as a Kindergarten classroom teacher in Washington, DC. He also has experience working as a coach and teacher in an after school program called DC SCORES, creating neighborhood teams that give kids in need the confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life.

In his free time he likes to spend time with his family, practice sports (especially soccer), watch movies, and travel.

Maestra Naomi

Maestra Naomi is from Southern California and a native Spanish speaker.  She has worked with students for over 10 years. 

Maestra Naomi began her teaching career at a private school in the Bay Area.  She worked with Kindergarten and First Grade students.  She then served as a preschool teacher, where she taught students from ages 2-5 years old.  Helping students grow academically and fall in love with the language and develop into being life-long learners are her favorite parts of being an educator.  She is a fun, dynamic and engaging classroom teacher, and teaches our early childhood students.  

 

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. 

She currently lives in Southern California with her family. She enjoys traveling to different countries in the summer, going to the beach, and playing video games with her son.
