Maestra Andrea is a native Spanish speaker and California credentialed teacher. She has worked with students for over 7 years in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. She has experience both inside the classroom and outside doing adventure programs. She has previously tutored middle school students in various subjects in the Santa Barbara area. In Los Angeles, she has taught English to high school newcomers and, today, she is currently teaching in a dual immersion program at the elementary level.
She likes to form strong relationships with students in order to get to know them beyond the classroom. She believes that building strong relationships with students helps them perform better. She does this by creating fun activities that are centered around the lives of her students.
Maestra Andrea received her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Chicana/o Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She also has a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University. She holds a Multiple Subject teaching credential as well as a BCLAD (Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development) credential.
Maestra Andrea currently lives in Los Angeles where she enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle by going to the gym to lift weights, and hiking. She also likes to go in search of the best delicious food in town.
